Our Programs: A Beloved Outdoor Community
Everything we do is by community, for community.
Our R3 Program (Recruit, Retain, Reactivate) helps people connect with hunting traditions through culturally relevant mentorship, education, and hands-on experience events.
Our Conservation Program ensures our voices are represented in how land, wildlife, and natural resources are managed—through stewardship, advocacy, and policy work.
Together, these programs foster belonging, grow access, increase opportunities, and build power in the outdoors for Black, Indigenous, and all People of Color.

I wish I had found a community like this when I was younger, because I definitely would have gotten into hunting a lot sooner.

They say [and we say] “we don’t do this” but now I do this!

I am a HOC mentor because I was lucky enough to have had family teach me what it means to be a hunter and now I get to pass that knowledge onto someone who didn’t have that opportunity. Plus it’s pretty amazing seeing someone falling in love with nature like I once did.

HOC from the start has been an inspiring Organization! I am glad to be a part of something so great. I can’t wait to bring more people of Color into the outdoors and allow them to enjoy and feed their families natural organic meat.

Hunters of Color Communities are local groups of members across the country who share a common bond—culture, conservation, and connection to the land.
These communities bring together hunters and conservationists who believe representation matters and are building spaces where everyone feels they belong in the outdoors. Whether you're just starting your journey or generations deep, there’s a community here for you.
